The initial culprit

I found these gems on a list of gifts whose authors describes herself: "As an active carpool Mom, I've had an inside ear this year into what 10 year old girls think is hot and what is not."

You better believe it.

My personal favourite was gift idea number 9:

'While not all seven year olds really appreciate hand crocheted scarves, tween girls really do seem to appreciate handmade items from funky stocking caps, to colorful scarves, to unusual knitted backpacks, and of course, hand beaded jewelry. Tween girls seem to really like the "one-of-a-kindness" of handmade gifts that show off their tastes and style, and they enjoy telling their friends who made this "just for them." '

Thank you carpool Mom! I just know my little cousins will adore their new funky stocking caps and unusual knitted backpacks!

I was recently inspired while googling ideas for a gift for a nine year-old girl...Oh, how this explains years of birthday and Christmas disappointments.
